Bit of an update, created a new Google account, still can’t get passed ” sign on with Google” but I can’t understand why I can on a new device?
chrisncc1701ParticipantTried a factory reset on the phone, still can’t get passed log on with Google, but the first time I tried I got a quick welcome back message just before the error message,
Strange though if I use a more up to date device I can get it to work as a thermostat but not older devices? What is the oldest android version this will work to?chrisncc1701ParticipantHi again, I think it’s something to do with the Google account, I can get past the Google log in on another device, so I’m going to factory reset the phone I am going to use as the thermostat and will let you know
chrisncc1701ParticipantHi, the account used to log on here is not a Google account, the account used on play store and the thermostat app is a Google account, interesting though the client app is still on two other devices and they actually log on to the server with the Google account but obviously they don’t do anything cos I’ve no thermostat working, should I try uninstall the app on the other devices?
I haven’t got another Google account to try,

chrisncc1701ParticipantDisaster now, uninstalled and reinstalled app, can’t get passed sign in with Google now, comes back with error, I now have no thermostat!
chrisncc1701ParticipantHi, yes it’s working ok now, get occasional error on the thermostat app but I think it’s a WiFi router problem momentarily loosing connection, but it’s not affecting the operation of the thermostat and clients, so all working ok now.

chrisncc1701ParticipantHi, I sometimes get it if another WiFi device is near the phone so I’m assuming it is a bad WiFi signal but not sure
chrisncc1701ParticipantHi, yup, all seems to be working now, I’ve changed settings from client and thermostat apps and all ok, must say this is a great project especially the fact that you can move the esp temp sensors to ideal locations, its a feature i haven’t found in any other set up, commercially or otherwise, thanks very much
Chrischrisncc1701ParticipantOne thing i have noticed is that when something is changed on a client device it changes on another client device but not the thermostat device e.g. boost, manual, auto etc, so does not operate the heating, while a change on the thermostat device does alter the client devices, sorry for not explaining very well
chrisncc1701Participantforgot to mention, i also get occasional “Error unknown error happened” on thermostat device
chrisncc1701ParticipantHi, downloaded the ping app, but when i ping “smart-thermostat.eu” i receive replies from “vmd78201.contaboserver.net” 3 transmitted, 3 received.
when i ping 144.91.89.223 i receive from 144.91.89.223 3 transmitted, 3 received.
tried reloading the client and temperature apps, the client apps won’t control the thermostat but show the correct temp and status, tried rebooting the router, do i have to reload the sketches to esp32’s, they appear to be working ok when i look at their IP’s -
